Common questions
What you ask us most.
Short answers. The full terms are in the booking conditions, and the practical details before departure in Good to know.
Booking and paying
How do I book?
You send an enquiry, free and without obligation. We reply with an itemised quote, normally within two working days. The booking becomes binding only once you have accepted and the deposit is paid.
When do I pay?
Twenty per cent when you book, the rest no later than seventy-five days before departure. If you book closer to the date, the full amount is due at once.
How can I pay?
Card, Klarna or bank transfer. Card details are given to the payment provider and never pass through our own site.
What is included in the price?
Return flights, all transfers on the island, accommodation with half board, green fees for every booked round, a host on the ground, and a welcome and farewell dinner. Insurance, equipment hire and personal expenses are not included.
Can I cancel?
Yes. What it costs depends on how close to departure you cancel, and the full scale is in the booking conditions. We charge no fees of our own beyond what has already been paid to hotels and courses.
While you are there
Do I need a particular handicap?
No. A few courses want to see a registered handicap, and we arrange that for you. We ask for your golf ID once the trip is booked.
Can someone come without playing golf?
Yes, and the price is lower for anyone not playing. Excursions, the spa and the beach can be booked instead of rounds.
Do I need a visa?
Swedish, German, French and British citizens need no visa for tourist stays of up to ninety days. Your passport must be valid for six months after the day you leave Mauritius. Other nationalities: write to us and we will check.
When is the best time to go?
May to November is driest and coolest. December to April is warmer and greener, with shorter showers. The cyclone season is January to March.
What happens if there is a cyclone?
We rebook what can be rebooked and refund what cannot go ahead. Where an official warning makes the trip impossible, the rules on unavoidable extraordinary circumstances in the booking conditions apply.
Security
Is my money protected?
Yes. We are a package tour operator with statutory insolvency protection, which means your money is refunded and you are brought home should we cease payments.
[INSERT THE NAME OF YOUR INSOLVENCY PROVIDER HERE] — and the reference number, together with a telephone number and email the traveller can use directly. The same details appear on your booking confirmation.
Who am I contracting with?
[INSERT YOUR COMPANY NAME HERE], company registration number [COMPANY NUMBER], at [COMPANY ADDRESS]. We are the organiser and are responsible for the whole trip, including the parts carried out by others.
Who do I speak to?
[NAME OF THE RESPONSIBLE CONTACT], who you can reach on [DIRECT NUMBER] and at hello@meridianfairways.com. During the trip there is a number staffed around the clock, and it is printed on your travel documents.
Where do I see my booking?
Under My trip, with the booking number and the key you were sent with the quote. There you see the status, the documents and what has been paid, and there you enter the passport details yourself.
