Ten championship courses fit on an island you can drive across in two hours. None is more than an hour or so from the next. Choose the ones you want to play — we book the tee times.

The island’s first true championship course, laid through an old deer reserve. Tree-lined and demanding on precision rather than length, with a signature par 3 at the 17th across an inlet. Host of the MCB Tour Championship since 2009.
No transfer
The greens are kept quick and firm year-round by the same team that maintains the Links course next door. Cart is included in the green fee; a caddie can be booked separately. Best played in the morning, before the afternoon wind picks up on the open holes toward the sea.

No transfer
Shares a clubhouse and practice area with The Legend Course, so it is possible to warm up on both courses the same day for a surcharge. More exposed to wind in the afternoon — a morning start is recommended here even more than on its neighbour.

Anahita
Anahita Golf Club

The first course on the island built to USGA standard, between mountain and lagoon. Six holes along the sea close the round with a par 5 at the 18th — one of golf’s most photographed finishing holes.

Cart is included in the green fee. The course sits within the Anahita estate, so getting around is by golf cart even from the clubhouse. Popular to combine the round with lunch by the lagoon afterwards.

Île aux Cerfs Golf Club

Golf on its own island — volcanic rock, mangrove and lakes through old sugar-cane land, with the Indian Ocean in sight from almost every hole. Often counted as the most memorable round of the week.
Boat from Trou d'Eau Douce
The price includes the return boat transfer from Trou d'Eau Douce and cart hire on the island. No private cars allowed — everything runs on the course's own transfer boats and golf carts. Worth booking an early departure to avoid a queue at the jetty around midday.
South coast and highlands
Bel Ombre and Bois Chéri.

Laid around a nineteenth-century château within a 2,500-hectare estate. Water crosses several fairways and greens, and the course has hosted European-level professional events more than once.

Part of the same 2,500-hectare estate as La Réserve Links and our base Heritage Le Telfair Golf & Spa Resort — both courses can be played the same day. Cart included; a caddie is recommended the first time on the course, since the layout is hard to read on a first visit.

The Indian Ocean’s first genuine links, shaped from the dunes behind Bel Ombre. Together with Le Château it makes Heritage the island’s only 45-hole facility.

The island's newest course and the more wind-exposed of Heritage's two — best played early morning. The green fee sits at the upper end among the island's courses, in line with the standard of a newly built links course.

Inland in the island’s green highlands, far from the coast and a few degrees cooler. Wide fairways through rolling terrain with lakes and forest.
Inland
The highland climate means the round feels cooler than at the coast — worth bringing a light layer even in the middle of the day. A cart is recommended given the elevation changes across the terrain.
West and north
Tamarina, Le Morne and Mont Choisy.

Tamarina Golf Club

Between the Rempart river and the Trois Mamelles mountains, with wide fairways and great variety between holes. Drier and more savannah-like than the east coast courses.
West coast
More exposed to wind than the east-coast courses, which makes club selection matter more than at a typical resort course. Cart included; walking is allowed on request.

Le Morne
Paradis Golf Club

Out on a narrow peninsula beneath Le Morne mountain, with holes along both marina and coast and views over the bay for most of the round.
South-western tip
Sits on our own base for the longer trips, Paradis Beachcomber Golf Resort & Spa, so the round starts right outside your hotel room with no transfer. Views of Le Morne mountain from several holes.

North
Mont Choisy Le Golf

- North of the island
The only 18-hole championship course in the north, built on an old sugar plantation with volcanic rock and water hazards throughout.
North of the island
The island's newest 18-hole course, with modern drainage that keeps it playable even after heavy showers. Close to Grand Baie, so it is easy to combine the round with an afternoon in the village.
Green fees and booking
Green fees, carts and tee times are booked by us as part of the trip — you never contact the clubs yourself. Clubs can be rented on site on request if you would rather travel without your own.
Transfer times
We stay at Paradis by Le Morne in the south-west, and from there Golf du Château and La Réserve are 35 minutes away, Tamarina 45 and Avalon 50. Mont Choisy is in the north of the island and makes the longest drive of the trip. The east-coast courses are further still and are not in the programme.
